Salman Rushdie had to cancel his Jaipur Lit Fest trip. But he did make it to Delhi at the invitation of India Today Conclave in March 2012.
But alas! Imran Khan cancelled his trip this time as he wasn’t willing to share the same platform of Liberty Verses with Salman Rushdie, a man who had caused immeasurable hurt to Muslims in Pakistan. And alas! Akhilesh Yadav, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh also regretted to be present due to “other engagements.”
So, Salman shared the stage with Aatish Taseer, a British born writer, son of Salman Taseer who was brutally assassinated in Pakistan.
Now, question is: Should Imran have come? Or, should Salman have been a little less harsher on Imran in his speech?
Watch and judge for yourself đ
