BIOGRAPHY
Rumana Siddique was born in Bangladesh but left it in her infancy to return at the age of eighteen. She spent most of her childhood in Tanzania in East Africa and Nigeria in West Africa and her early teens in England. She completed her Bachelor and Master of Arts in English from University of Dhaka. She also has a Masters in English Language Teaching from Warwick University, UK. She has been writing poetry and essays since her childhood and her poems have been published in the literary journal Six Seasons and in several national dailies. Her first volume of poetry, The Five Faces of Eve, was published by Writer’s Ink in early 2007. Her next collection Broken Shells should be out later this year, she is also working on a collection of short stories.
She is currently settled in Dhaka and teaches at the Department of English, University of Dhaka.
